Personal Update 5-30-2012
Spent Memorial Day Weekend camping with friends at a wonderful little camp ground in western Ohio. Still trying to unpack and recover so I probably will not post anything till next week.
Here are a few fun tidbits about my trip. Friday was mostly spent setting up camp. My friend Q. made some awesome jambalaya for dinner. I tripped on one of tent ropes, and fell on to the ten, breaking one of the poles…. thank the gods for duck tape.
Saturday was spent trying to avoid the sun, drinking lots of water and joking around. My husband made some really awesome chili for dinner.
Sunday me and several of my gal pals decided to try the nearby creek to get relief from the heat and we found a nice deep spot to swim in and a small water fall. There was this wondrous blue-grey clay there and we painted ourselves up all tribal like. The clay ‘war paint’ got quite a few laughs when we strolled back in to camp. It was a great bonding experience. Dinner was K’s Irish stew. That night we final broke out the marshmallows and P. pulled out his guitar and tried to teach us a few sea shanties.
Monday was pack up and the long trip home. It is Wednesday now and I still have a bunch of junk in the back of my SUV.

The Pagan Insight Project May 2012
In Your Own Words - So where am I at in my path right now? Well I am currently in the middle of reading Magic, Witchcraft, and Ghost in the Geek and Roman Worlds by Daniel Ogden and Pliny’s Natural History, edited by Loyd Haberly. I haven’t actually sat down and worked on the book about my path in a while. This is largely do to the fact my kid has demanded a lot of my time, hopefully once she starts school this fall things will get easier. So apart from that as far as my actual “practice” as I stated in a previous post I am expanding my skills in the kitchen / kitchen witch area, learning new skills and recipes.
* Post A Pic - Here is a picture of my cat enjoying the spring weather from the window. I choose this pic because I think she illustrates “enjoying the moment” feeling that we should all have during the season changes.
* Musical Musings -I have been watching this show with my kid and I just love the art work and goth-y humor.
*Action, Action - Well for Beltane I did a very informal ritual that largely consisted of dusting the alter and lighting some incense. I purified the house and made a deliciousness Irish inspired dinner consisting of beer bread, beef and potatoes cooked in the crock-pot with onion soup and Guinness.
I also have been at attempting to organized a local pagan meet and greet but no one showed up. Apparently everyone thought because it rained in the morning our afternoon event was canceled….grrr. Beginning to feel that my efforts were wasted, I am going to try one more time and if I don’t get results thinking of throwing in the towel.
I am also going camping at the end of this month. Nothing helps chase away your everyday worries like tossing back a few drinks in the woods with your friends.
